Lotus 001
Lotus 001 began with a collection of jackets.
I wanted a way to add something personal to the garments I already wore—an object that could live on the jacket without permanently altering it. The existing buttonhole became the starting point.
What began as a mounting idea gradually became something more personal. The Lotus gave the object its form, and the first prototypes were cut in Los Angeles in 2025.

Early studies explored different materials, proportions, and mounting geometries before the form was ultimately developed for silver.
The first prototypes were considerably larger than the finished piece. Cutting them physically, and wearing them, established the scale the Lotus would eventually hold.

The mounting system evolved alongside it. Early versions led to a flatter bar geometry, designed to keep the Lotus level against the garment when worn.

These studies established the form and single-piece architecture that would become Lotus 001.

The design matured over several months, carried through Africa, Asia and Europe in between. The flat silhouette gave way to a dimensional lotus, and that became the form taken into production.
